Tape for the aerial trapeze or hoop - Mueller
Intended by the manufacturer for rehabilitation purposes they are perfect for aerial hoop and trapeze taping.
One hoop requires 1.5–2 rolls
Tape Mueller:
Length of 1 roll: 9.1 m.
Tape width: 3.6 cm.
Rigid non-stretchable cotton tape with strong adhesive.
Rigid or flexible tape?
Both will work during training.
Rigid tape at the beginning will be more "adhesive" because the tape on the roll is glued to itself (like one-sided adhesive tape). After placing it on the hoop in the first days of use it will be slightly sticky. After a few workouts the excess glue will disappear.
The elastic tape is wrapped with paper under the adhesive layer so it does not stick at the beginning of use. It is possible however that after some time the edges of the tape will roll faster because they are softer than in rigid tapes.
Rigid tapes are used as often as elastic ones and their durability is determined primarily by the intensity of training the outfit in which we exercise or the place where the hoop is rigged - if you exercise outside and / or leave the hoop overnight / in the rain; this tape will wear out much faster. However if you exercise indoors in the right outfit then be guided by the colors and not the stiffness of the tape when choosing them ;)
Taped hoop versus non-taped hoop - advantages and disadvantages of both options:
Non-taped hoop:
– it is more slippery which can make it harder to perform certain techniques (aside from hoop rolls where a slippery surface makes turns easier)
- is subject to wear and tear more quickly
- abrasions bumping during transport and detachment
Taped hoop:
- not slippery
- the tape absorbs sweat and dirt for easier workout on hot days or outdoors
- you can change the colour of the hoop by buying various tape colours to adapt it to the colour of the show the costume...
- Mueller tapes have a strong adhesive so they do not come off do not peel off and ensure steady grip
How to tape an aerial hoop?
Take the hoop off the suspension point and put it on the floor.
Assume that the suspension point is on the clock at 12.00.
Start sticking the hoop from 7 o'clock counterclockwise to "12 o'clock" - to the handle. Then repeat the same process from the other side from 5 o'clock clockwise to "12 o'clock" - to the handle.
If you don't know how to do it write in the comment to the order:
"Please wrap the hoop." Of course this only works for people ordering a hoop and 2 tapes in one order.
How long the tapes will last?
Depending on the intensity of use from 3 to 12 months.
