Comparing Hammock Fabrics – AIR, JUST, or NATURA?
Choose the ideal fabric based on width, tactile feel, and vertical stretch:
- AIR (~215 cm wide, low-stretch): An extra-wide, lightweight fabric with minimal vertical stretch and a subtle sheen. Its generous width allows practitioners to lie flat crosswise, while low stretch holds a consistent height off the floor during yoga routines.
- JUST (~150 cm wide, medium-stretch): A versatile, soft, dense fabric with moderate elasticity. Excellent for shock absorption and cushioning tight wraps. Its 150 cm width is easy to grip in smaller hands, making it ideal for children and beginners.
- NATURA (~205 cm wide, high-stretch): An ultra-soft, matte fabric with a cotton-like touch. As our most elastic fabric, it stretches noticeably under body weight to contour tightly around the body. Perfect for deep relaxation, savasana, and sensory integration therapy.
Calculating How Many Meters to Order
To choose the right fabric length, measure the height from the floor to your ceiling attachment point and apply this formula:
Fabric length = 2 × ceiling height
If the hammock will primarily be used by a child, use the child formula: 2 × ceiling height + 1 m. Keep in mind that tying the two end knots consumes approximately 2.5 to 3 meters of material (around 1.2–1.5 m per knot), which is factored into the total set length.
