AERIAL SAFETY

Your safety is paramount to us. That is why all our equipment is certified (tested for durability) and stored in appropriate conditions. However, your safety also depends on you. Make sure you are in the right place and train safely. Check out our quick safety guide.

Basic safety rules:

- Train in the presence of others, preferably during classes with an instructor. If you exercise at home, make sure you have someone who can help you in case of emergency.

- Be careful especially when training figures that you do for the first time.

- Use a safety mattress

- Make sure you have adequate space around the prop - if you train at home, make sure that you are not too close to furniture or the wall

- Check the equipment before each training session - make sure that it is properly mounted and has no defects

- If you are mounting hardware for the first time, make sure your attachment point is of adequate strength. Remember that the endurance of the point is not only the weight of the body and the prop, but also the higher loads (approx. 12 times the body weight) during dynamic techniques. The equipment and rigging needs to be strong enough to account for this.

  • Warm up before training and remember about stretching at the end
  • Practice in the right outfit
  • Do not train after consuming intoxicants such as alcohol or drugs. Check that the medications you take do not affect your attention span or motor skills
  • Take off your jewellery, sharp outfits such as a belt, zip fastener, studs, watch - they can destroy your equipment.

RIGGING POINT

All equipment should be securely suspended from certified equipment. All rigging points you use, should be checked and certified by a competent rigger or structural engineer.
